| Our Day Habilitation services offer training in
pre-vocational skills and independent living skills. Training is
individually designed with special emphasis on consumer and family
preferences. In addition to individualized training, participants in
our program engage in a variety of social and recreational activities
including community outings. Our Day Habilitation program offers daily
transportation service, meal service, psychological services, and
individualized person-centered planning. We offer these services in
both Frederick and Washington counties.
Day Habilitation Senior Citizens
Program
Our agency provides specialized and structured services to elderly
developmentally disabled individuals who have reached the age of
sixty-two (62). The overall philosophy of this program is to enhance
the quality of life to our senior citizens through personal preferred
activities, while maintaining both their physical and mental functioning
abilities. Our caring staff are devoted to ensuring a healthy and
stimulating environment for our older consumers.
WCHDC Autism Program
The primary goal of this program is to enhance the quality of life
for our participants. This goal is accomplished through an active
treatment program which focuses on replacing dysfunctional behaviors
with appropriate functional skills. Upon arrival, we complete a full
assessment that identifies individual needs, skill levels, and
behavioral issues. An integrated individual plan is developed using a
team approach that focuses on long term outcomes. Family members and
primary caregivers are essential parts of the team process and all
inputs and recommendations are strongly encouraged. The individual
Plan is implemented by our staff, with regular progress reports given to
family members and caregivers.
